Incident Reports
Incident reports may be requested either in person or by mail. Victims of a criminal offense may receive one free copy of a report in which they are listed as the victim. (This does not include video/audio tapes or photos.) ARS 13-4401.19 defines victim as a person against whom the criminal offense has been committed, or if the person is killed or incapacitated, the person's spouse, parent, child or other lawful representative, except if the person is in custody for the offense or is accused.

If you are requesting an Incident Report (IR), please contact 602-876-1078 for report cost. The fee for a report is $5.00 for the first ten (10) pages and $.50 for each additional page. All fees are payable by cash, money order, cashier’s check or business check only. Personal checks and debit/credit cards are not accepted. If the report has been received by the Departmental Reports Section, you will be advised of the cost. If it has not been received, you should contact the above number at a later date to determine the cost prior to submitting a request. Reports are generally received by the Departmental R eports Section within 7-14 business days (Monday – Friday 7:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. excluding holidays) after the incident has been reported.

Certain reports cannot be released until the case has been completed. These are typically homicides, arson, sex crimes, high profile drug cases, etc. There may be other exceptions dependent on the case and case agent.

Traffic Accident Reports

Traffic accident reports are $5.00 for the first ten (10) pages and $.50 for each additional page. Please contact the Departmental Reports Section at 602-876-1078 for report cost and availability prior to sending a request or arriving at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to obtain the report.

Traffic accident reports are generally received by the Departmental Reports Section within 7-14 business days. However, the reports may be delayed depending on the severity of the crash. Accidents involving serious and/or fatal injuries may take months to complete.

NEW***ACCIDENT REPORTS ONLINE***NEW

Accident reports may also be obtained online**. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Appriss, Inc. (formerly DOCVIEW, LLC) to provide our accident reports online. Interested parties; citizens, insurance companies, investigators and others can purchase reports online with BuyCrash. Fees for online reports are $5.00 per report plus a convenience fee imposed by BuyCrash.

Accident reports approved for public release are available online from January 1,2013 to present. You will need the Departmental Report number (DR#), date of accident and a valid credit/debit card to access your report for download.

**Please note: Traffic accident reports resulting in fatal or serious injuries will not be available online. Accident reports relating to a criminal offense such as a DUI will not be available online. These reports must be requested through the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Reports Section.

Print a copy of the Records Release Request

Once your request has been received, records personnel will return the report to you via U.S. Mail.

You may also pick up a copy in person at:
201 W Jefferson St, Phoenix (Map it), public Security Entrance Central Court Building, and proceed to the West Court Building, 3rd floor.
Please contact 602-876-1078 prior to picking up reports to ensure availability of the report.

Parking
There are metered parking spaces on the street and a fee for parking garages in the vicinity. The Records Division does not validate parking.
